Your first session

This is one short session with Arcus, from signing in to a picture of a wheel you can send, using the chart of John Coltrane, born 23 September 1926 at 7:00 pm in Hamlet, North Carolina. Each step links to the chapter that covers it in full.

  1. Sign in. Click Sign In at the far right of the top bar, and continue with Apple, Google, or an email address and password. Signed out, only the Dashboard opens. See signing in to Arcus.
  2. Cast the chart. Click New in the top bar. Type John Coltrane in Name and click Look up, pick him from the list, and the date and the place fill in with a portrait. Wikidata has no birth times, so type 700p over the 12:00 it offers. A line under the place reads off the Ascendant, the Sun and the Moon before you cast. Turn on Save to my charts, then click Calculate Chart, and the wheel opens in its own tab. See cast a new chart.
  3. Open a technique. Click Profections in the rail beside the wheel. Its card opens with the year and month in force on the date you are on, and clicking the name again closes it. The gear at the foot of the rail chooses which techniques the rails show. See technique rails.
  4. Move the moment. Drag the timeline under the wheel to another year, and the wheel, the card and the transits follow. Click Now on the timeline to come back to the present, or click the calendar button on the transport to type an exact date. See moving through time.
  5. Read a placement. Hover a planet on the wheel for its card, with its longitude, house, daily travel and declination. Click a planet to pick out its aspects and click empty space to let them go. See the chart wheel.
  6. Save a picture of the wheel. Right-click the wheel and choose Save image…. Pick the background, whether the name and birth data go in the corners, and the size, then click Save PNG. See saving the wheel as a picture.
  7. Find the chart again. Click Open in the top bar, and the chart is in Saved Charts, in the folder you saved it to. Open it from there, or from Recently used under + at the end of the tab strip. See open a saved chart.

From here, Getting around names every part of the window, and on a phone the same session runs through Arcus on a phone.
