Speculum

The Speculum card sets out each point's position, motion and coordinates in one table, so you can read the numbers a direction is worked from.

The Speculum card

One row goes to a point and one column to a coordinate. A declination out of bounds is coloured. On a chart the table reads the moment the wheel was cast for, so a return is read at its exact instant, and with the transit ring on the card's title reads Speculum · natal. On the sky tab it reads the moment on the timeline at your observing place.

A solar arc, profected or composite chart has no sky of its own, so the table reads its own degrees: the longitude, with the right ascension and declination of that degree. Latitude, speed, daily travel, oblique ascension, altitude and azimuth are left blank, and a line at the foot of the card says so.

Click a column heading to sort by it, ascending, descending, then back, and drag a heading to move the column.

Click the gear to choose the columns, from a preset, Classic (the default), Ecliptic, Equatorial or Horizon, or one at a time, up to six.
