The Circumambulation card follows the directed releaser through the bounds and names the distributor and partner at the chart's moment, so you can read the bound in force and scrub to the next one.

Reading circumambulation

The Circumambulation card shows the releaser's path as a track of ages or as a list, with a strip that reads the moment you are on. In the Track view, the default, three lanes run along an axis of ages. Signs shows the signs the releaser crosses, lords the bound lords, and partners a curve that peaks at each contact with a planet. A flag on the playhead gives the age.

The playhead is the chart's moment, so moving it moves the wheel, the timeline and the Graph with it. Drag its handle to scrub, drag the track to pan or click it to jump to that age, and scroll up or down over the track to zoom. The slider under the track sets how many years are in view, and the now button returns to the present.

The strip under the track reads the playhead. Distributor gives the bound lord, the sign and degrees of the bound, and the lord's dignity there if it has one. Partner gives the planet the releaser has met, by body or by ray, with the orb applying or separating. Directed Ascendant (or Sun, Moon, Fortune or Midheaven) gives the directed degree, the age and the date.

The List view sets out every bound in turn, with its ages, lord and date of entry, and the contacts made inside it underneath. The bound and contact in force are highlighted, and clicking any row moves the chart's moment there.

The picker under the card's header sets the releaser, Ascendant (the default), Sun, Moon, Lot of Fortune or Midheaven, for every chart. Without a birth time only the Sun can be the releaser, and directing needs a birthplace.

Minimized, the card shows the distributor with its bound and the directed degree, and the partner with its orb. The distributors and the partner curve also have a lane on the life timeline.

On a phone, the card's page shows the track with the list under it, opened at the present.

Circumambulation settings

The Circumambulation settings choose the bounds the card uses and how it times the direction, along with its view. Click the gear in the card's header, or the tag under the strip that names the bounds and method, to open them. They apply to every chart.

  • View picks Track or List.
  • Bounds picks Egyptian (the default) or Ptolemaic.
  • Method picks Ascensional times (the default) or Exact ascensions.
